
His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa received here today Parliament Speaker Ahmed bin Ibrahim Al Mulla, Shura Council Chairman Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, Parliament First Deputy Speaker, Shura Council First Dputy Chairman, MPs and Shura members.
HRH the Premier reviewed the government’s programmes in the North Governorate, affirming that the needs of the Northern villages’ citizens top the government’s agenda.
He said ministers had been informed about the service needs of the villages of the Northern Governorate and instructed to include them in their ministries’ work plans and implement them as soon as possible, adding that a number of housing, education and infrastructure projects will be implemented across the Northern Governorates’ towns and villages so as to ensure citizens enjoy a decent living.
HRH the Premier affirmed that the Parliament’s civilised way of dealing with the Government Action Plan and the MPs’ commitment to national interests while discussing it have proved the fact that all share the same goal of enhancing the kingdom’s progress and the prosperity of its people.
HRH the Prime Minister stressed that his doors will remain open for cooperation with the legislative branch, noting that the government’s achievements over the next four years will go beyond what is included in its blueprint.
He emphasised that all government programmes and plans aim to achieve the best for the homeland and the citizens.
HRH the Premier called for the need to adopt stronger forms of government-parliament cooperation to address the negative repercussions of terrorism on society at the social and economic levels, stressing that whenever efforts are coordinated, many achievements that consolidate security and stability and upgrade the citizens’ living standards will be accomplished and the goals of the two branches will be reached.
HRH the Premier pointed out that the local, regional and global situation makes the enhancement of executive-legislative cooperation a necessity in order to be able to deal with the economic and political challenges and overcome them.
The Speaker, the Shura Council Chairman and their deputies expressed sincere thanks to HRH Premier for his constant interest in developing mechanisms of cooperation between the two branches, valuing highly his directives to ministers to cooperate fully with members of the parliament as the representatives of the citizens.
