
His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa received at the Gudaibiya Palace today scores of citizens, who visited him to express their overwhelming happiness over his safe return to the kingdom.
HRH Premier said that the feelings of joy and happiness showcased by the Bahraini citizens as they welcomed him back would make him more resolved to bring about more achievements.
"I feel comfortable only when the citizens are comfortable, and I feel happy only when I am with the members of my people, who has shown me every kind of support," he said, stressing that the Bahraini people has "set the example in loyalty to the nation and the leadership, and therefore, it has thwarted successive attempts to undermine national unity.
He underlined that the Bahraini citizens have always rallied behind the leadership in building the nation, and optimizing its landmark achievements.
"Under His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa's leadership, the kingdom is set to attain more progress in all development fields," he said, noting that the government is doing its utmost to enhance housing, education and health services so as to ensure decent living and comfort for the citizens, and address any deficiencies in citizen-oriented services.
He warned against attempts to politicise issues in order to maintain the kingdom's leading status in every field, stressing that "politics should support the economy; not cause its decline."
He emphasised that security and stability will never be compromised, being rights required by the state towards the citizens, noting that the citizens have the right to ensure that their safety and that of their property, while the government and its bodies should be in charge of applying the law and reinforcing its authority.
"The stability of the nation, and the security of the citizens will always top all priorities, and therefore, we will deal with terrorists and vandals firmly," he said, lauding in this regard the approach adopted by Saudi Arabia to safeguard its security and stability and encounter terrorists.
On elections, HRH Premier praised the high turnout of voters, and congratulated the citizens, for their patriotism through which they defeated "suspicious" calls and exposed them to the world and the elected candidates, whishing those will compete in the second round every success.
"I came back to the nation carrying feelings of love towards this noble people, whose members welcomed me warmly," he said, stressing that the citizens' feelings of love towards him have strengthened the special relations between the Bahraini people and its leadership, "which has been a source of pride throughout the history" of the kingdom.
He affirmed the Bahraini people's patriotism, strong belonging to the homeland and sincere feelings towards the leadership, stressing that "our country always needs such cohesion in order to ensure a better future, paying no attention to attempts to impede the national march."
The audience lauded HRH Premier's distinguished status in the hearts all members of the Bahraini people, recalling with appreciation and gratitude his pivotal role in the kingdom's renaissance and constant keenness to reach out to the citizens in order to remove all obstacles facing them, and ensure them decent living.
