The Public Prosecution has launched an investigation into the General Directorate of Criminal Investigation's report on a person's illegal importation and possession of weapons, Chief Prosecutor Fahad Al-Buainain stated.
He added that the Public Prosecution had issued warrants to search the suspect's residence and arrest him, noting that a number of guns, as well as ammunition were found.
The Public Prosecution quizzed the suspect, who admitted to possessing arms and ammunition.
It charged him of un-authorised importation, acquisition and possession of weapons and ammunition, and remanded him in custody pending investigation.
The defendant has never been involved in terror incidents, Al-Buainain said.
