
Bahrain's Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa received here today Tun Musa Hitam, Special Envoy of the Malaysian Premier and Chairman of the World Islamic Economic Forum, who is currently on a visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The premier affirmed the importance of consolidating cooperation among Islamic countries in order to boost and support the Islamic economy in light of the Islamic countries' huge potentials.
He also called for the need to enhance and broaden communication among Islamic countries, and build bridges of cooperation between the Muslim and Non-Muslim worlds, noting that the Islamic economy is the fastest growing in the world and has become an integral part of the global economy.
The prime minister asserted that security is an essential pre-requisite for the economy to grow and prosper, warning that the 'suspicious' acts in the regions pose a serious threat to the global economy, and, therefore, have to be contained in order to ensure stability.
The premier praised the advanced level of the Bahraini-Malaysian relations, and their steady growth in various fields.
Tun Musa Hitam praised the Government of Bahrain's support to all initiatives aiming to launch new formulas of economic cooperation among Islamic states, which will promote their status and effective economic role in the global economy.
