The current visit of Bahrain King Hamad bin Isa al Khalifa to Egypt and his talks with President Abdel Fattah El Sisi reflect the distinguished political and strategic ties between the two countries, Egyptian former assistant foreign minister Mohamed Hegazy said on Wednesday.
In statements, Hegazy said that the Bahrain King's talks during the visit took up risks that threaten the Arab national security, notably the risk of terrorism and foreign interference in Arabs' affairs by Iran and the ongoing conflicts that endanger the stability of Arab countries, especially in Syria, Libya, Yemen and Iraq.
The Egyptian and Bahraini foreign ministers defined these risks and called for boosting cooperation among Arabs to overcome them, he added.
Also, the two countries' top diplomats talked about the necessary principles to promote coexistence among the region's countries, he underlined.
These principles should be based on mutual respect, non-interference in Arabs' affairs and good neighborliness, he said.
