The visit of Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir to Egypt is considered successful in every sense of the word, said Sudanese Investment Minister Mustafa Osman.
In press statements upon arrival at Khartoum Airport on Sunday, Osman said that the Sudanese president held bilateral discussions with his Egyptian counterpart Abdel Fattah El Sisi.
Bashir also held meetings with a number of Egyptian officials on bilateral ties along with the latest regional and international developments, he added.
The Sudanese president also met with a host of Egyptian businessmen and briefed them on the investment opportunities in the country, added the minister.
Bashir also promised the Egyptian investors to overcome all the obstacles which are facing investments, said the minister.
The minister added that the Sudanese president called on the Egyptian investors to make use of the 2004 Four Freedoms agreements.
Talking about the Halayeb triangle region, located on Egypt's southern border with Sudan, the minister said that an agreement was reached to discuss first the agreed upon issues and then tackle the contentious
issues in a more calm atmosphere.
Halayeb triangle has been a source of tension between both countries since Sudan gained independence from joint Britain and Egyptian rule in 1956, with dispute at times over the right to manage the region's petroleum resources.
