The Minister of Legal and Parliamentary Affairs Magdy el Agaty underlined that a draft law on building and restoring churches has been finalized and will be sent to the cabinet on Tuesday and then to the House of Representatives.
This remark came during the participation of el Agaty at the meeting of the Parliament's Human Rights Committee under MP Mohamed Anwar el Sadat on Monday.
The bill took four months to be finished, the minister said, noting that there were discussions with the representatives of churches as well as Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria and Patriarch of St. Mark Diocese.
The draft law is approved by the representatives of the three churches, el Agaty underscored, adding that it was also submitted to the security bodies which okayed it.
Concerning the unified press bill, the minister reiterated that it was presented to the cabinet on Monday.
