
A bomb exploded at a police station near Egypt's capital Cairo on Saturday. A group of unidentified men threw a home-made bomb at the Bolaq Al- Daqrour police station in Giza province, causing no casualties, official news agency MENA reported. Soon later, a bomb-disposal team arrived at the scene, the report said. Last week, three unknown assailants on a motorcycle threw a bomb near the same police station, injuring two civilians. Earlier Saturday, Egyptian military managed to defuse a bomb planted on a railroad linking the canal governorates of Ismailia and Suez. Initial investigations revealed that the bomb targeted a train coming from Suez, which carries at least 300 passengers. On Thursday, Egyptian Interior Minister Mohamed Ibrahim survived an assassination attempt when a bomb exploded near his convoy in Cairo, but one person was killed and 24 were injured.
