
President Abdel Fattah El Sisi held last week a series of meetings to follow up a number of internal and international files.
President Sisi met on Saturday with Transport Minister Saad el Gioushi and head of the Arab Organization for Industrialization (AOI) Abdel Aziz Seif.
During the meeting, the transport minister reviewed the ministry's urgent plan to develop the transportation system in Egypt.
For his part, the head of the AOI reviewed the ongoing measures to increase the rate of local component while manufacturing carriages of trains and the underground Metro.
The president ordered to implement the transport projects with the highest standards of quality and in a very short period of time, according to presidential spokesman Alaa Youssef.
The Egyptian leader also met with Health Minister Emad Eddine Rady to discuss ways of improving the health services in Egypt.
During the meeting, the minister reviewed the action plan of the Health Ministry, which includes providing health insurance for citizens, improving services at public hospitals, upgrading the nursery sector, providing medication and developing the medicine industry.
The president stressed the importance of producing drugs in Egypt of high quality and at lower prices and facilitating measures of detecting diseases and developing the pharmaceuticals sector.
He also directed to increase the number of the Egyptian physicians delegated abroad to hone their skills and receive high level training in order to upgrade the medical system in Egypt and improve health services.
The president stressed the attention paid by the state to the health sector, calling for upgrading all aspects of the medical system to provide unique services to the Egyptian people, especially the low-income brackets.
President Sisi held a meeting with the Cabinet on Monday to get posted on the steps the government had taken to deal with the repercussions of the heavy rains that hit Alexandria on Sunday.
The prime minister submitted a report to the president on efforts by all relevant ministries and authorities in cooperation with the Armed Forces to contain the situation and deal with its repercussions.
The president also received chairman of Germany's Siemens Company Joseph Kaeser in Cairo.
Kaeser briefed Sisi on developments of the implementation of a project to establish three power plants for the production of electrical energy at a total capacity of 14,400 megawatts.
