Cabinet assigns electricity company to negotiate with Siemens AG

The Cabinet assigned on Wednesday the Egyptian Electricity Holding company to continue talks with the German Siemens AG and sign a memorandum of understanding on restructuring and establishing electricity power stations nationwide.
The cabinet's decision is part of a plan to improve the electricity production and distribution services.
As part of the MoU, a preliminary study will be carried out on the first phase of the control stations' development.
Also, it includes a plan to establish a new control station and a system to manage electric meters' reading.
