
Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab chaired a meeting of the high committee for partnership with the private sector on Thursday.
A number of public-private partnership (PPP) projects were approved during the meeting, including allowing Orascom Company to carry out a wastewater treatment station in Abu Rawash as the winner of its tender, Cabinet spokesman Hossam Qawish said.
The committee also agreed to apply PPP in upgrading and computerizing notary public offices and a project to build two seawater desalination plants in Safaga and Al Tour cities at the Red Sea and one in El Alamein on the Mediterranean Sea, the spokesman added.
The meeting was attended by the ministers of planning, housing, supply, finance, transport, investment and communications and the governor of Cairo.
