
Cairo Governor Galal Moustafa Saeed greeted on Thursday all heads of Catholic denominations inside and outside Egypt over Christmas, wishing them a merry one.
The governor lauded strong bonds binding Egypt's Christians and Muslims, hoping that feasts would be a new chance to spread love, peace and stability in the world.
The governor, accompanied by Local Development Minister Adel Labib, visited All Saints' Cathedral in Zamalek district to offer greetings to Bishop Mouneer Hanna Anis over Christmas.
He also visited the Armenian Catholic Cathedral in Abdine district for the same purpose.
The governor delegated deputy governor Mohamed Ayman to attend the Mass of Greek Orthodox denomination in Hamazawi district.
The Coptic Catholic, Greek Catholic, Roman Catholic, Assyrian, Maronite, Caledonian and Episcopal Churches in Egypt celebrate Christmas on December 25.
The Coptic Orthodox Christians – who comprise 90 percent of Egypt's Christians – will break their 43-day fast and celebrate Christmas on January 7.
