Cairo Governor Galal Saeed inspected on Sunday the restoration of the houses that have been damaged by the blast outside the Italian consulate in downtown Cairo nearly one week ago.
One person was killed and ten others were wounded when a booby-trapped car exploded outside the Italian consulate on July 11.
Saeed said residents of the damaged houses were given a choice either to take residential units in the 6th of October city or to take compensation instead.
He promised that none of residents will be harmed.
Up to 100 staffers of the Arab Contractors company are participating in the restoration process, which is scheduled to last for 10 days, head of the company Mohsen Saleh said.
