Cairo Security Chief Khaled Abdel Aal arrived on Thursday at Attaba telephone exchange's site to follow up the ongoing efforts by civil defense forces to control the fire that erupted at the building.
The civil protection forces are professionally trying to extinguish the blaze that broke out at the structure, an official with the Interior Ministry's media center said.
The Civil protection authority has provided more than 20 fire engines, three huge water tanks and two hydraulic ladders to put out the blaze, the source added.
Security forces have cordoned off the area to allow more fire trucks to arrive at the scene to contain the fire.
