Calm prevails in Tahrir Square

Calm settled over downtown Cairo's Tahrir Square ahead of a million-man protest that was called for by a number of parties and political powers. The protesters call for holding early presidential elections, releasing all political detainees and drafting new constitution. Among the participating groups are Al-Dostour Party, Free Egyptian Party, Refrom and Development Party, Public Current, Rebel Compaign, the April 6 Youth Movement (Democratic Front), and the National Association for Change.
