Cassastion court annuls execution, jail sentences for 15 defendants

The Court of Cassation decided during a session Wednesday to annul execution and jail sentences handed down for 15 defendants.
The court recommended the retrial of the defendants at the Giza criminal court.
Up to 14 defendants had been sentenced to death by hanging while the 15th defendant was sentenced to imprisonment for storming the Kerdasa police station in 2013 and killing a number of officers and soldiers.
They had been charged with destabilizing public security, sabotaging facilities, possessing weapons and killing policemen.
