
The Court of Cassation upheld on Sunday an acquittal verdict given earlier by the Criminal Court to Hosni Mubarak-era officials and businessmen on charges of profiteering and facilitating the acquisition of public funds.
Former housing minister Ahmed el Maghraby, former board manager of the state-run Akhbar Al-Youm Foundation Mohamed Fadly and businessmen Waheed Metwalli Youssef and Yassin Mansour were accused of signing a contract to sell 113 state-owned feddans in 6th of October City to Akhbar Al-Youm in violation of the law.
