The Cairo Center for Conflict Resolution and Peacekeeping in Africa (CCCPA) completed a five-day training course for Egypt's peacekeepers taking part in the UN mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo, said a statement by the Foreign Ministry on Monday.
The training course tackled the principles of international humanitarian law, human rights, and the protection of civilians during the armed conflict, among other topics.
The CCCPA was established in 1994 under the auspices of the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Since its establishment, the center has been at the forefront of national, regional and international efforts to provide "African Solutions to African Problems".
The Center aims at supporting peacekeeping operations in Africa through a capacity-building approach, providing training for all those involved in peacekeeping, peace-building and conflict resolution.
