
A group of Coptic activists wrapped up on Thursday a protest in Dawaran Shubra, northern Egypt, commemorating the victims of Maspero incidents, occurred in 2011.
The protesters raised photos of the victims and chanted slogans demanding retribution.
Organizers had to end the demonstration an hour earlier fearing the eruption of clashes after some people chanted anti-army slogans.
Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria and Patriarch of the St. Mark Diocese on Wednesday announced that the Orthodox Church would hold a mass to commemorate the martyrs of Maspero incidents.
The mass will be held in Archangel Michael church in the 6th of October city, said Tawadros in his weekly sermon.
