Dar al Ifta stands fully ready to cooperate with the European Union (EU) countries in providing the necessary support to confront terrorism and extremism, affirmed Egypt's Grand Mufti Dr Shawqi Allam.
Security and military solutions are not enough to combat terrorism, he added.
Dar al Ifta is interacting with the Muslim communities in Europe and supporting them, he affirmed during his meeting Thursday with EU ambassadors to Egypt.
"We are fully ready to discuss any fruitful cooperation that runs in the interest of all parties," added Allam.
The meeting took up ways of boosting cooperation in order to eliminate extremism and terrorism and offer the necessary support to the Muslims in the EU countries.
"We are now facing daunting challenges throughout the world, topped by spreading terrorism and extremism," he said, adding that terrorism has no defined borders and can occur anywhere.
Egypt attaches great importance to rooting out terrorism and extremism, Allam affirmed.
