Dar al Iftaa, the primary Egyptian authority responsible for issuing religious edicts, strongly condemned on Wednesday the gruesome killing of the Jordanian pilot by Daesh terrorist group.
Daesh released on Tuesday a video revealing the murder by burning to death of Jordanian pilot Muaz al Kasasbeh held by the group since the end of December.
"This crime shows the barbaric nature of those extremists," a statement by the Dar al Iftaa reads.
In response to the hardline group claims, Dar al Iftaa asserted that Islam forbids killing prisoners, let alone burning them alive.
Daesh has intentionally misinterpreted the Islamic principles to justify their crimes, it added.
