
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs instructed the Embassy of Algeria in Paris and consulates in the French capital to collect official and accurate information about the circumstances of death of an Algerian national during his transport to the Roissy-Charles De Gaulle airport in Paris.
In response to a question on this issue by APS, spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Abdelaziz Benali Cherif stressed "once the Ministry of Foreign Affairs learnt of the death of an Algerian national during his transport to the Roissy Charles De Gaulle airport in Paris, part of a deportation from the French territory, it closely followed this issue and immediately instructed the Embassy of Algeria in Paris and the consulates in the French capital to get official and accurate information about the circumstances of his death and the exact identity of the citizen, and to engage, as part of the mission of consular protection, all procedures this kind of situation requires. "
The spokesman underlined on this occasion the "strict respect for the dignity of Algerians abroad, compliance with treaty provisions, including readmission, are among the components of the Algerian consular action."
