Defense Minister Sedky Sobhy and Chief of Staff Mahmoud Hegazy went to the Abbasiya Cathedral on Wednesday to offer greetings to Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria and Patriarch of Saint Mark Diocese on the Christmas.
Sobhy hailed the pope's patriotic stands, stressing that Egypt would remain an epitome of moderation, forgiveness and renunciation of ignorance, fanaticism and terror.
Pope Tawadros lauded the great role played by the Armed Forces to serve and protect the nation.
He also underlined the efforts exerted to restore churches hit by terror attacks.
