Securing Egypt's borders and protecting its national security is a sacred mission, Defense Minister Sedqi Sobhi asserted on Tuesday.
Addressing Border Guard personnel, the minister reaffirmed that the Armed Forces would continue to be alarmed and always ready to harshly face any threat against Egypt's borders.
He also lauded the role played by the border guards and remembered the souls of their martyrs who sacrificed during the continued clashes with extremists and terrorists.
The minister led an open discussion with all personnel regarding the recent developments at all levels and their impact on national security.
He also honored a number of personnel who successfully achieve their missions.
The gathering was attended by Chief of Staff Mahmoud Hegazi and a number of military commanders.
