A woman was rescued by Dubai Police on Friday after falling into an air shaft of a building.
The 32-year-old, from an Asian country, had fallen from a small window of the first-floor apartment, said Col Ahmed Bu Ruqaiba, deputy director of the search and rescue department.
The incident had been reported to the command centre at 4am on Friday. A rescue team led by Lt Yaqoub Ishaq Al Bloushi found the woman unconscious and trapped in a small space at the bottom of the shaft.
Police rescued the woman using a stretcher and ropes. She had sustained serious injuries to her back and a broken leg, Col Bu Ruqaiba said.
The rescue crew revived her before rescuing her from the shaft.
