Egypt's Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry telephoned Algerian Foreign Minister Ramtan Lamamra to discuss ways to enhance bilateral ties, said Spokesman for the Foreign Ministry Ahmed Abo Zaid.
The talks tackled the latest developments in the region, mainly the situation in Libya in line with Daesh's recent terror acts in Sirte.
Shoukry called for continuing support for the political course sponsored by the United Nations.
He underlined the importance of starting to implement a political deal signed in July, mainly the formation of a unity government.
At least 25 people have been killed in clashes between Daesh and an Islamist group backed by armed civilians in the Libyan city of Sirte.
