Egypt is committed to engage with the international community to protect peace and security, said Hisham Badr, the assistant foreign minister for multilateral affairs and international security.
Badr made the remarks in a speech to the forum of the ambassadors and permanent delegates to the United Nations, held at El Alamein, in the northern Matrouh Governorate of Egypt.
Egypt stresses that introducing reforms to the United Nations is a matter of urgency, the Egyptian diplomat said.
The developing countries should be given more space in the world's decision making as in decisions that affect the future of their people, Badr said.
