Egypt committed to maintaining human rights

Egypt is committed to maintaining human rights and establishing the state of law, an Egyptian diplomat said on Wednesday.
Assistant Foreign Minister for Multilateral Affairs and International Security Hisham Badr, in a statement during the twenty-eighth session of the Human Rights Council, now held in Geneva, shed light on Egypt's efforts to uproot terrorism, calling on the international community to intervene to help Egypt in its anti-terror war.
He underlined that Egypt drafted several laws during the past period to promote the concept of human rights and combat violence against women.
Badr reviewed Egypt's stance of the situation in the Palestinian territories, Libya and Syria as well.
He also pointed out to President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's endeavors to renew the religious discourse to counter the growing threat of extremism in the world.
