Egypt has strongly condemned a video purportedly showing a mass execution of Ethiopian Christians in Libya by Daesh terrorist group.
Egypt extends deepest condolences to the families of the victims and affirms support of the Ethiopian government and people as they grieve for their fellow citizens, according to a statement issued by the Foreign Ministry.
The international community should bear its responsibility toward preserving security and confronting terrorist groups, added the statement.
On Sunday, Daesh released online footage showing two groups of around 15 men being killed. In the unverified video, the members of one group are shot in the head in the southwestern region of Fezzan while the others are beheaded on the coast of Barqa.
