
Egypt today strongly condemned the shelling of a school run by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA).The UNRWA-operated school, which is located in to the east of Rafah in Southern Gaza was transformed into a shelter for displaced Palestinians whose houses were demolished due to the Israeli shelling.
The brutal Israeli assault on the targeted school left dozens of Palestinian civilians dead and injured. In a statement today, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs called for an immediate end to the military operations targeting innocent civilians. It urged a ceasefire to stop the bloodshed and protect civilians' lives so as to ensure the distressed Palestinian people security and human dignity in an independent state .
