Egypt has expressed its concern at the delay in the signing of a final political agreement between the Libyan parties, despite the approval of the Libyan Council of Deputies and a number of other political forces on the text of the agreement on the 11th of July.
The Middle East News Agency, MENA, quoted a spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Adviser Ahmed Abu Zeid, as saying that, "Egypt was expecting that the United Nations and countries with influence on the parties in western Libya would play their part in encouraging the parties to begin implementation of the agreement through the formation of a national unity government."
Mr. Abu Zeid denounced the spread of terrorism over large areas of the country as a result of this delay, which raises serious doubts about its motives, adding that some consider it a premeditated delay aimed to spread chaos to prevent the legitimacy to be able to exert its control on the country.
