Egypt's Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab stressed on Tuesday that Egypt was working on achieving security and stability not only on its land but in the whole region as well in cooperation with international and regional partners.
The remarks were made during a lunch banquet organized by the Business Council for International Understanding in Washington.
Mahlab is taking part in the US-African summit in Washington.
"The government has time to achieve the demands of the Egyptian people and has long and short-term plans in this regard," Mahlab said.
He added that the government announced some measures to address the state budget deficit.
"The budget deficit is a major problem facing Egypt's economy, which led Egypt to cut subsidies on fuel to support education and health sectors," according to Mahlab.
President Abdel Fattah El Sisi laid the foundation stone of the Suez Canal Corridor project, Mahlab said.
The time was ripe for investments in Egypt, Mahlab said, calling on businessmen and investors to direct themselves to Egypt.
