
Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry has met his Italian counterpart Paolo Gentiloni on the sidelines of an international donor conference on Syria in the British capital London.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid said in a statement Thursday the two ministers discussed the developments in the death of Italian student Giulio Regeni in Egypt.
They agreed to cooperate in investigations into the death of the student to find the real cause of the death within the framework of cooperation and friendship between the two countries, said Abu Zeid.
The Egyptian and Italian ministers also discussed conditions in Libya and Syria and efforts exerted to form a national unity government in Libya, he concluded.
