
Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukri discussed with his Omani counterpart Yusuf bin Alawi ways of boosting bilateral relations, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Saturday.
During their meeting on Friday, the two top diplomats tackled various regional issues, topped by the Palestinian cause, the Syrian crisis and the situation in Iraq, the ministry said.
They also discussed the political and security situation in Libya, according to the statement.
The two ministers also took up the topics which would be discussed in the upcoming meeting of the Arab foreign ministers' council.
The Omani minister arrived in Cairo on Friday on a two-day visit to Egypt.
