Spokesman for the Egyptian Foreign Ministry Ahmed Abu Zeid expressed on Thursday his hope that the coming six-party meeting about the Ethiopian renaissance dam would come up with "desired results" that maintain rights of all parties.
The meeting, to be held in Khartoum on December 27-28, will be attended by the foreign and water ministers of Egypt, Ethiopia and Sudan.
"The Egyptian people have the right to be worried about this issue, but they should not overestimate it," he said, stressing that Egypt cannot give up on its share of water.
Abu Zeid described as 'important' the last meeting on the Ethiopian dam, which was held in Khartoum, adding that the meeting discussed problems facing the two consultancy offices tasked with completing technical studies on the Ethiopian renaissance dam.
