Egyptian Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab underlined the depth of relations between Egypt and the UAE.
Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a visit to the UAE, which he concluded Thursday, Mahlab said the UAE had supported Egypt during hard times without hesitation.
Egypt is planning to build a new capital and the UAE’s Emaar Company will have a big role in it, he said, adding that all UAE investors are welcome in Egypt.
Asked about Egypt’s relationship with Qatar, Mahlab said late Saudi King Abdullah bin Abdelaziz had adopted a rapprochement initiative for both countries, which Egypt accepted but the Qatari stance until now remains vague.
Egypt’s army is strong and capable of fighting terrorism in Sinai and all Egyptian cities, he said, noting that the militant group “Daesh” has no presence in the country.
He said Egypt has reduced the budget deficit from 14% to 10% thanks to its adopted reform policies.
