Egypt, as current chair of the Arab summit, praised the "active" Arab-Latin American cooperation and asserted aspirations for further cooperation that would meet the interests of both peoples.
Assistant Foreign Minister for Americas Affairs Mohamed Farid Monib said such grouping is unique as it brings together both sides which are geographically distant to discuss political, economic and social issues and paves the way for wider vistas of cooperation in numerous fields.
Reading out Egypt's address before the grouping meeting, Monib asserted the pivotal role played by the forum as an active and constructive framework for dialogue.
He reviewed the latest developments in the Arab region and efforts to realize progress for peoples in the area.
