
Assistant Foreign Minister for Multilateral Affairs and International Security Ambassador Hisham Badr said on Monday that Egypt was re-elected for the membership of the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) Council for the period between 2014 till 2018 by getting 115 votes out of 166 ones.
This came during the elections held on Monday in South Korea.
The elections witnessed fierce competition as 17 countries competed on the seats allocated for the African group.
The multilateral sector in the Foreign Ministry supervised the campaign of gathering votes for Egypt in coordination with the Egyptian embassies abroad.
