A senior leader of the Muslim Brotherhood organization has been killed by Egyptian Interior Ministry forces, the ministry said.
In a statement early Tuesday, carried by the Middle East New Agency (MENA), the ministry said that Mohamed Mohamed Mohamed Kamal died in a gun battle along with another member of the group on Monday.
The ministry said Kamal was in charge of the group's armed wing. He was also a member of the General Guidance Bureau, and then in 2013 took over the responsibility of senior management of the organization.
The statement added that the exchange of fire also killed Kamal's guard, Yasser Ali Shehata, who was also one of the most influential cadres of Muslim Brotherhood organization.
