
Egypt's Ambassador to Lebanon Mohamed Badr el Din Zayed asserted on Sunday that Egypt backs Lebanon's legitimate institutions, notably the government under Prime Minister Tammam Salam.
Egypt is also keen on the stability of situation in Lebanon, he said.
This came during a meeting held between Zayed and former Lebanese Prime Minister Fouad Siniora in Lebanon.
During the gathering, the Egyptian diplomat informed Siniora of Egypt's keenness on standing by a Lebanese government representing all political powers.
The Egyptian ambassador called on all political powers to resolve their political disputes and preserve the interest of the country.
After several meetings with various Lebanese political parties, Zayed said he sensed that they are keen on De-escalation and solve the political crisis, especially with the current presidential vacuum in the country.
