Egypt always supports the unity and sovereignty of Syria, spokesman of the Egyptian Ministry of Affairs Ahmed Abu Zeid reiterated Friday, noting any other issues should be tackled in the inter-Syrian talks, brokered by UN.
Abu Zeid’s remarks came in response to a question by reporters on Egypt’s assessment to the Syrian Kurds announcement about their desire to establish a federal regime in Syria.
The spokesman said Egypt reiterated from the beginning the importance of Kurds' participation in the Syrian talks, as they are integral part in the Syrian fabric.
Egypt has warned from the risks of excluding Kurds from talks, he added.
He urged all the parties, inside or outside Syria, set aside their disputes, heed Syria's interests and end the Syrians’ sufferings.
