The Egyptian government is taking quick and firm steps to fight illegal migration and human trafficking, a senior official said on Tuesday.
Naela Gabr, the head of the national committee for fighting illegal migration, said they have been working with the Ministry of Social Solidarity on that issue for two and a half years now.
The Ministry of Social Solidarity has voiced support for activities of the committee, such as its "Buy Egyptian" which was organized in July with the aim to back small producers, Gabr said.
She greatly valued cooperation between the committee and research centers and NGOs that took part in a dialogue on a bill to fight illegal migration and human trafficking.
The media plays a major role in boosting awareness about risks of illegal migration and how traffickers manipulate dreams of the young to make big gains.
