
The Egyptian diplomatic mission in Damascus in cooperation with International Organization for Migration (IOM) has finalized measures to repatriate 14 Egyptian nationals along with their Syrian families who are scheduled to be brought back to Cairo on Tuesday after they sought help due to the ongoing war in Syria.
"The Egyptian nationals had been living in Syria since long times and they have asked help from the mission to be returned home due to the hard circumstances in Syria," Charge d'affaires of the Egyptian mission Mohamed Tharwat selim said.
Among the would-be returnees, 10 people who were besieged in Madaya city that has been going through hard times, the diplomat said.
He added that the mission repatriated 38 Egyptian nationals and their Syrian nationals in 2015 at their request.
