Egypt will host an international conference on Palestine under the rubric "the reconstruction of Gaza" on October 12 with the participation of the Norwegian government and in the presence of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.
Secretaries general of the UN the Arab League along with the EU representative of foreign policies and security will head the conference.
The event aims at boosting the principles of the ceasefire agreement between the Palestinians and the Israelis and improving the climate for reaching a political solution for the conflict, Spokesman of the Foreign Ministry Badr Abdel-Atti said Friday.
The conference also targets promoting the UN mechanisms to import and export goods to and from the Gaza Strip, he said.
During the event, the Palestinian government will present in coordination with the World Bank the needs of the enclave to be reconstructed within five years, he added.
