Egypt and Tunisia are working for developing political, diplomatic, cultural and trade cooperation, Egyptian Ambassador Ayman Mosharafa said Sunday.
Egyptian culture is one of the tools of promoting cooperation with Tunisia, he told MENA, reiterating Egypt's keenness to take part in the festivals hosted by Tunisia like Carthage Festival.
He called for easing regulations hindering the exchange of tourists between the two countries.
Citizens of Tunisia, even those traveling among tourist groups, need a prior approval from the Egyptian security authorities to get a visa and the same is applied for Egyptians traveling to Tunisia.
As for the situation in Tunisia, the diplomat hoped that the Tunisians would place the country's higher interest above any other consideration but at the same time he underlined the importance of respecting the country's sovereignty.
