Egypt, UAE FMs discuss promoting coop

Egypt's Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry held a meeting Friday with his UAE counterpart Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed to discuss promoting bilateral ties, said spokesman for the Foreign Ministry here Badr Abdel Aati.

The meeting tackled ways to enhance and develop bilateral ties in all fields.

The meeting also took up the latest developments in the Palestinian territories, Iraq, Libya, Yemen and Syria, along with efforts to fight terrorism and the nuclear deal between Iran and world powers.

The talks reflected the compatibility of views between the two countries.

Shoukry then left the UAE for Kuwait for talks with Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al Hamad Al Sabah on consolidating bilateral ties and issues of mutual concern.

On Thursday night, Shoukry left Riyadh for the United Arab Emirates, wrapping up a two-day visit to Saudi Arabia.

During the visit, Shoukry held meetings with Saudi King Salman bin Abdel Aziz, Crown Prince Mohamed bin Nayef and Deputy Crown Prince Mohamed Bin Salman.

The meetings tackled prospects of cooperation between both countries along with the latest developments in the Arab, Islamic and international arenas.
