Egyptian Assistant Foreign Minister Hesham Badr had talks in Cairo on Saturday with David Concar, who runs the UK Foreign Office's International Organizations Department.
In a statement by the Egyptian Foreign Ministry on Saturday, Badr said the talks are held to expound to Britain Egypt's vision concerning the issues on the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) agenda as a UNSC a non-permanent member.
The two sides agreed on the importance of developing mechanisms of combating terror, especially in view of continued armed conflicts in the Middle East and Africa.
The talks tackled means of defusing the Palestinian-Israeli conflict as well as the latest developments in Syria, Yemen and Libya.
Concar lauded the level of Egyptian-UK ties, voicing hope that the two countries would continue cooperating in various domains, especially in issues related to international peace and security.
