Egypt has asserted the importance of unity of the international community in face of terrorism in the Middle East region, especially with the potentials of its extension to the area neighboring Europe, Africa and the Mediterranean basin.
This came in a word by Assistant Foreign Minister for Multilateral Affairs and International Security Ambassador Hisham Badr on behalf of the Egyptian foreign minister at the ministerial conference of the European Security and Cooperation Organization (ESCO) held in the Swiss city of Bazel.
Egypt has participated in the conference in its capacity as an observer country in the organization.
Egypt has warned against the seriousness of Daesh actions in the region as well as other terror organizations, according to a statement by the Egyptian Foreign Ministry.
Egypt stressed that the size of international backing of Cairo's anti-terror efforts was not up to the aspired-for levels, the statement added.
Egypt sought through the conference to get more powerful political condemnation for the terror acts that seeks to destabilize the country, the statement said.
