Egypt has called on the international community to respond to the demands of the legitimate government in Libya, said Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry, who led Egypt's delegation to the fourth meeting of the International Contact Group on Libya.
Egypt stressed the need to unify all international and regional efforts to get Libya out of its current crisis, Shoukry said in press statements following the meeting.
Shoukry noted that he briefed the participants on the outcome of meetings grouping hundreds of Libyan tribal representatives in Cairo.
He noted that Egypt commended an initiative floated by UN special envoy to Libya Bernardino Leon to resolve the Libyan crisis.
For his part, Leon praised Egypt's initiative to hold a conference of Libyan tribes in Cairo in May.
He warned that the humanitarian situation in Libya is worsening.
