The Cabinet has decided to toughen the country’s legislation on terrorism after the deadly terrorist attack in North Sinai.
During an urgent meeting on Saturday, it was agreed to draft a law amending some acts of the military law to allow the court martial to rule on terrorism-related cases that threaten the country's safety and security.
The rulings of the military judiciary would be applied in the areas where the state of emergency was declared.
It was also decided to provide the needed finance for a plan that aim at boosting security along the whole borderline.
The details of the plan would be announced on Sunday during a meeting of the governors' council.
A curfew and a state of emergency were imposed in North Sinai after the terrorist attack that killed at least 30 soldiers on Friday.
